| Giovanni Battista Bonacina (c. 1620–after 1670) | ||||||||||
| A Milanese engraver, Bonacina was active mainly in Milan and Rome. He was influenced by the style of Cornelius Bloemaert, who likely trained him. Bonacina produced engravings after the works of Pietro da Cortona, Andrea del Sarto, and Bernini, among others, and specialised primarily in portraits, historical subjects, and religious scenes. His engravings were generally well executed, though at times they were considered somewhat dry and stiff. He died Rome. | ||||||||||
