One of the Curetes, daemons or spirits who were Zeus' companions during his childhood on Crete.[H45]
The Curetes were sometimes confounded or identified with the Dactyls, the Telchines[15B] and the Corybantes.

According to one account, the Curetes were executed by Hera.[109]
Another account tells that Zeus killed them with a thunderbolt.[P44]
They had the power of prophecy.[H45]
