In 1312 Pierre prevented King Philippe IV of France from taking control
of Lyons, and the King was forced to send his son, Louis, King of Navarre,
with an army to besiege the city. The attack was ended through the mediation
of Amadeus V of Savoy, and
Pierre was expelled from the city soon after.
He was restored as archbishop in 1320 by Philippe V of France through
a new treaty.
In 1324 Edouard, Count of Savoy, granted Pierre the castle of Montfaucon
in Bresse. This was confirmed by Count Aymon in 1331 who also granted
him the castle of Septème in the Viennois.
