Eastern
Catholic Churches
Eastern Catholic Churches are a group of Catholic denominations
that trace their origins back to the early days of Christianity,
when Christianity was a single church, but with a variety
of different traditions. Over time, these traditions diverged,
and the Eastern Catholic Churches eventually separated from
the Western Catholic Church in the Great Schism of 1054.
Since then, there have been many attempts to reunite the Eastern
and Western churches, and a number of Eastern churches returned
to full communion with the Catholic Church, while maintaining
their own distinctive liturgical,
theological, and cultural traditions.
