| Genoveffa Curlando Campana (1711–1775) | ||||||||||
| An Italian painter, Genoveffa was born in Turin into a family of artists. She was the daughter of Giacomo Antonio Curlando, himself an accomplished painter, from whom she inherited both an appreciation for the arts and considerable technical skill. She married Giuseppe Giacinto Campana, further connecting her life with the artistic circles of the time. Active in Piedmont, she devoted herself to portraiture, marked by composure and delicacy, and to the copying of existing works. Her son, Ignazio Campana, became a miniaturist. Though much of her work remains little known today, her contributions to the Piedmontese artistic tradition mark her as a painter of quiet distinction. | ||||||||||
