The Church of San Jacopo di Ripoli, located near Santa Maria Novella
in Florence, was founded in the 13th century. It belonged to Dominican
nuns for centuries and even housed one of Europe's first printing
presses between 1476 and 1484. The church was renovated in the late
16th century, and in 1794, it passed to the Montalve nuns. They
left in 1886, taking the art works with them, apart from the terracotta
relief of the Madonna and Child with Saints James and Dominic by
Giovanni della Robbia above the main entrance. Today, the church
is part of a military complex
